FSU Creative Writing Center Issues Call for Art and Poetry

The Frostburg State University Center for Creative Writing invites students and community members to submit their art and poetry to the third annual Word and Image Project, which will feature selected works in an art exhibition and poetry chapbook. All work should be sent to the Center for Creative Writing by Monday, April 20, to be considered for the juried exhibition in May.

Examples of artwork submitted can be sculptures, photographs, paintings or drawings, and should incorporate some or all of the text of a poem. Poetry submitted should be ekphrastic, based on or describing a specific work of art. Poems may be entered for free. Visual artworks may be submitted at $10 per piece, with the fee waived for students. Mail submissions to the Center for Creative Writing, 101 Braddock Rd., Frostburg, Md. 21532; email them to cwcenter@frostburg.edu; or drop off work at the Center at 22 E. Main St. in Frostburg.

Monetary awards will be given for Best in Show, the Student Prize, the 2D Prize and the 3D Prize. The exhibition will be juried by Center Director Gerry LaFemina.
