After a successful 2014 year in which its show at Frostburg State University broke a Harlem Globetrotters box office record, the iconic comedic basketball team will return to FSU on Monday, March 9. The event will be held in the Bobcat Arena at 7 p.m. and doors will open at 6 p.m.

FSU was one out of 101 Globetrotter venues that broke 2014 box office records, and to honor this record, the Globetrotters presented FSU with the coveted red, white and blue Money Ball.

"The Frostburg stop was a tremendous success," said FSU Director of Conferences and Events Dave Treber. The game served as a fundraiser for FSU Athletics.

"More fans came out to see the Globetrotters live in 2014 than ever before, and the money balls are a way for us to show these venues how valuable they are to our success," said senior vice president of the Globetrotters Michael Kenney.

In 2015, the Globetrotters celebrate their 88th consecutive year of performing. This year's tour is sponsored by World Vision, Greyhound Lines and Baden Sports. The family-friendly entertainment is fun for all ages and incorporates ball-handling wizardry and basketball artistry. The team has showcased its iconic performance in 122 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductees, the team has performed for millions over the last eight decades. Audience members have included popes, kings, queens and presidents.

During last year's event, FSU graduate Jasmine Kelsey, a human resources management and service major, provided the Globetrotters with marketing support for a class assignment.
