FSU Librarian Named President-Elect of SLA Maryland Chapter

Dr. Se\u00e1n Henry, Reference Librarian and Web Manager for the Lewis J. Ort Library at Frostburg State University, was recently named to a three-year term as 2009 President-Elect of the Maryland Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (SLA).

Besides SLA involvement, Henry participates actively in other statewide, campus and local community organizations: He currently serves on the boards of the Frostburg Museum and the Frostburg Palace Theatre. He joined the FSU faculty in 2004. A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Henry attended Spartanburg Methodist College and holds a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University (Kansas), as well as master's and Ph.D. degrees in German from the Universities of Georgia and Kansas respectively.

With 58 chapters worldwide, the SLA, founded in 1909, is a global professional association for innovative information professionals, librarians and their strategic partners in corporations, law firms, research and academic institutions, government and military agencies. Henry has been actively involved in the SLA since 2001.
