FSU's Dr. Xunyu Pan Presents Research on Mobile Music Visualization at Electronic Imaging Conference
04/25/2016

Dr. Xunyu Pan, an assistant professor in Frostburg State University's Department of Computer Science and Information Technologies, recently presented a research paper titled "Musical Instruments Simulation on Mobile Platform" at the 28th Electronic Imaging Conference in San Francisco. The paper was co-authored by FSU graduate students Megan Balukoff and Jacob Wilson.

In the article, Pan, Balukoff and Wilson introduce a novel mobile musical system that aims to simulate the functionality of musical instruments and visualize the interaction between simulating devices and mobile users. The paper was based on a research project that was a collaboration between FSU and Purdue University.

This is the third time Pan and his students have presented research papers at the conference.

The Electronic Imaging Conference is a premier conference for the latest research on digital imaging and multimedia systems. This annual international event draws more than 1,000 researchers and entrepreneurs from all over the world. The conference is sponsored by leading technology companies such as Google, Qualcomm, Intel, Dolby and Canon.
